Well, I got 2 more of my "countdown" projects all wrapped up--for real! This is the "1000 yards of ribbon" wreath---not really 1000--closer to 500--either way it was a humungous amount of ribbon, fabric, and netting and hours of tying. But covered in glitter (from all the glittered netting), I managed to finish it up yesterday. If you look closely, you will see little circles with numbers in them--that's the little paper covered candy bars with the "countdown" numbers on them. Easily snipped out each day for a little treat without destroying the whole wreath
and my 16 x 20 picture frame with the little socks is now finished. The little clothes lines are in and the stockings are hung with little clothespins in red and green. There are little activities on the back of each for parents and kids to do together. I know in this day and age, "family" time seems to be scarce, but I love the idea, in the busiest month of the year, we take time to slow down and just have fun as a family. Something tells me this will be remembered far longer, than all the husltle bustle in the world!
I now have a --yup, you guessed it --"countdown" sign to get done and I have 2 more countdown ideas to work out ---if I can in the next week! Now I have plenty of countdown calendars for all the kids and no kids to use them! Still think they will make cute decorations! We'll see. Oh, and my countdown calendar (the Santa face where you add pom poms to his beard --see my Oct. 10th post), is now on sale in easy to put together kits at Memory Bound---so any kid can have fun counting down!
