Well, with a little finishing work from the previously posted pics, the huge name signs are up on the wall and securely anchored into the studs. (I was very nervous about placing them over the head of their beds, but believe me, Todd has made sure they will not move!). I added quite a few "real" fishing elements to Nicholas's in the form of hooks, lines, floats (let's face it, I really don't know the technical terms to any of that stuff).
At any rate, a trip to the walmart fishing department yielded several official items that are included and completed the plaque. As you can see, he has other bigger than life fishing items hanging in his room as well. At any rate, he really likes his name plaque--we'll see how long everything stays attached, as he can stand on his bed and easily reach it!
Aiden's, of course is not quite as Long, but he too loved all the "train" things attached.
Did you know Tim Holtz gears have some that look like the parts on a train? Yup, there are some that look like train wheels and of course, the actual cog gears look like train parts, too. I made a couple railroad cross bars on the cricut (Everyday Paper Dolls)(engineer icon), and put them at each end.
At any rate, they were very fun to make. Got a couple of girl's ones to make, too. Callie said she wants zebra stripes in colors like cousin Hannah made hers for the fair. Haven't asked Cloey yet what theme she wants.
And here is the little engineer, Aiden (5) and the best Fisherman ever, Nicholas (8), being silly and oh, so cute at the same time.
Now on to Scrapbooking in color! My son's girlfriend (I just call her one of my "daughters",), ran in the Color Run today in Des Moines. This just looks like such a fun (and colorful) event-- wish I could have seen it in person! This is Aly (on the right) and her friend that ran with her in their little white tutus and white shirts (a requirement) before the race.
and here they are after the race.--Needless to say, I cannot wait to SB this---IF I can decide on the papers, etc. to use. There are so many possibilities!!
This is a picture of all the colors being thrown on the runners, the idea is their white shirts (and tutus for the girls) will pick up the colors as they run.
This is just so pretty!
And here's another pic of the girls at the end. Great job!, Aly---Somehow, this run matches your colorful personality--and that is so what we love about you!
