The day started early and ended late, The first day of the county fair is now behind us! It started with the finishing up of the night time corral for the cattle that will be coming tomorrow.
Today we had the non-livestock judging for our 4-- 4-H Grandkids. Here Cody shows the judges his "IOWA" ceramics. He had to do a lot of fast talking to get those ribbons, since the judge is an Iowa State Graduate!
Paige, being judged for her photos, one of which is being considered for State.
Below, Hannah, our youngest , is finally being judged by the "Big" judges and came away shining like a Star! She got all Blues (6 of them!) and on 4 of them she got an outstanding rating as well-- that means--if she were one year older and had just finished the 5th grade, she would have had those projects considered for state! She is one proud 10 year old!
The girls and Mom wait for the next judge!
Paige's Judging of her Iowa State Word Wall Hanging---It's a BLUE!
Dylan with the judges and his ceramics!
The cattle barn looks mighty empty today, but tomorrow it will come alive as we bring the cattle in! Let the fun begin!
The girls enjoyed a McDonalds Picnic in the Grass.
It's been a great Day, but we're just starting to heat up---Day 2---we're ready for you!
